Our high energy dishes to give you a boost

July 14, 2023

If you’re off to see a theatre show, the last thing you want is to feel lethargic and sleepy during the performance. What you eat beforehand can affect your energy levels, and if you choose your dish carefully you can be sure of feeling alert and enjoying every moment.

The amount of energy in our food is measured in calories (kcal). But simply choosing calorie-dense foods doesn’t guarantee that lively feeling – it’s about eating foods that are a source of sustainable energy. These foods are generally high in fibre, healthy fats and protein, which release steady energy over a longer period of time.

To ensure you’re full of energy and ready for a great time at the theatre, we’ve selected some of the best high energy dishes from our Studio Five menu to give you a boost. As one of the best restaurants in Wembley for pre-theatre dinner, we’ll ensure you get your evening off to a fantastic start.

Boneless whole sea bass

Sea bass contains omega-3 fatty acids that give your body energy and help to keep your cardiovascular and endocrine (hormone) systems healthy. According to some studies, omega-3 can help to alleviate the effects of chronic fatigue, which is why it will give you the energy boost you need just before a performance.

Our boneless whole sea bass is teamed with a herb salad and capers for maximum benefit to your body. Capers contain lots of vitamins, including B2, which is the most powerful vitamin for energy.

Buttermilk fried chicken

Chicken is jam packed with lean protein, which is vital for maintaining good energy levels. Protein takes longer to process in your digestive system than carbohydrates, and therefore makes you feel satisfied for longer and helps to keep your energy levels stable.

Our buttermilk fried chicken is served with zingy hot sauce, blue cheese dressing and red cabbage slaw. Red cabbage is high in fibre and antioxidants, which can both help to reduce fatigue, while blue cheese is calorie-dense and a great source of protein.

Beef hotdog with charred baby gem side

Beef is another excellent source of protein, and our beef hotdog is the perfect way to get your fix of protein and carbohydrate before a show. Topped with crispy shallots, which are rich in energy boosting vitamin B6 and antioxidants, this dish is sure to stave off mid-performance hunger and leave you feeling perky.

Add our charred baby gem side to benefit from a boost of feel-good hormones thanks to the lemon dressing and some extra protein and fat from the parmesan.
